Some students are not performing to their fullest academic potential. They are “under-acheiving.”
I provide formal and informal assessments of a student’s demonstrated academic ability and his or her potential academic ability.
To assess demonstrated academic ability, I administer the Canadian Test of Basic Skills which measures reading, language, mathematics and science abilities.
To assess potential academic ability, I adminster the Canadian Cognitive Abilities Test which measures verbal, quantitative and non-verbal abilities.
Both of these tests provide a percentile ranking of the student for their age and grade.
Depending on the scope of the skills being assessed, these tests can take anywhere from 1 to 4 hours and are administered over several sessions.
